I’m a product design analyst by trade, which means I spend my days deconstructing objects to understand how they work, why they succeed, and, more often than not, why they fail.
But at home, I’m just a cat dad.
My co-pilot is Jasper, a seven-pound shadow of a cat with a motorboat purr and an anxiety level that could power a small city.
He craves closeness, often insisting on sleeping on my chest while I work.1
But this deep bond had a terrible flip side: the carrier.
Like so many cat owners I’ve seen describe their struggles online, we were locked in the Carrier Wars.2
The mere sight of the hard plastic crate triggered a transformation.

To put this new thesis into practice, I developed a four-pillar framework.
It borrows principles directly from the worlds of high-tech hiking gear and ergonomic baby-wearing to create a new standard for what a cat carrier should be.

The first principle of any good carrying system is that it must be comfortable for the wearer.

Pillar 2: The Chassis – Feline-Centric Structural Support
The carrier itself must have a “chassis”—an internal structure that supports your cat in a natural, comfortable, and biomechanically sound posture.
It needs to function as a “virtual lap,” not a shapeless sack.
